Preface to Part 1

Dear reader,
The Faculty of Laws at University College London has a long and proud history of student-led academic journals of the most excellent standard. It is with great pride that we introduce to the academic literature its inaugural flagship journal, the UCL Journal of Law and Jurisprudence. This Journal is testament to the vision of the Faculty and the dedication of its staff and students who contributed to bringing it into existence. Due to its heritage, this Journal seeks to pay homage to its historical foundations, jurisprudence and legal theory, while balancing expansion into new frontiers of theoretical analysis in contemporary legal discourse.
