Abstract
In Politics of Food, the editors Aaron Cezar and Dani Burrows attempt to comprehend food’s contested histories and uncertain futures through a series of artists’ projects staged at Delfina Foundation since 2013. The book brings together the work of artists, anthropologists, farmers and chefs alike to present aspects of their work. The result is a wide-ranging collection of short texts accompanied by ample illustrations which introduce readers to some key issues related to food. This review considers how Politics of Food serves as a primer for art historians wishing to study how food and commensality contribute to the discipline’s discourses.
