About the journal

Aims and scope

We publish one issue each year and that issue includes literary criticism, literary theory, book reviews, and creative writing that responds to our chosen theme. Past themes have included ‘Ambience’, ‘Unfeeling’ and ‘Nostalgia’. These themes are deliberately broad so they are open to interpretation, but they are also chosen to address contemporary, emergent and key issues in literary studies and the arts and humanities more generally.

We encourage graduate students and researchers from across the globe to respond to these calls for submissions. These calls for submissions are advertised on Twitter, via mailing lists, www.cfplist.com, and https://call-for-papers.sas.upenn.edu between October and December every year.
