The Editorial Board for the UCL Journal of Law and Jurisprudence (the “Journal”) is pleased to announce a call for submission of papers for Volume 12 of the Journal that will be published in Spring 2023. The Journal is a reputable law journal run by graduate law students from the University College London, Faculty of Laws, and is available through open access.

As with past issues, the Editorial Board welcomes papers covering all areas of law and jurisprudence. Submissions should provide an original contribution and / or insight into a legal field, or propose an answer to a complex and / or yet unanswered legal question. At the time of submission, the paper must not have been already published or submitted to any other journals (including blogs) for consideration or publication. All articles will be assessed through double blind peer review.

The Journal only accepts articles between 8,000 and 12,000 words, and current affairs pieces between 2,000 and 4,000 words. The deadline for submission is 3 Feb 2023. Late submissions will not be considered.

Before submitting an article for the Journal’s consideration, authors must ensure that their paper is referenced according to and complies with the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA). All papers must be submitted in Microsoft Word format and should also contain an abstract of approximately 150 words. Authors should also ensure that their papers are fit for publication at the time of submission. More information about the Journal’s requisite standards for submissions can be found in its past issues: https://student-journals.ucl.ac.uk/laj/issues/ .

Anonymised manuscripts must be uploaded via the submissions section on the Journal’s website (https://student-journals.ucl.ac.uk/laj/submissions/); there should be no references that could link the paper to the author. Registration on the Journal’s website is necessary before authors can submit their anonymised papers. Only submissions via the Journal’s website will be considered; submissions via email will not be considered.

For any questions with respect to the Journal, past issues, or the submissions process, please refer to the Journal’s website (https://student-journals.ucl.ac.uk/laj/).
