About the journal

Aims and scope

This journal demonstrates and disseminates good practice, new perspectives and innovation around teaching, learning, student services and the student experience, where students and staff (academic and professional services) are working in partnership to enhance all aspects of higher education, with a particular focus on responding to student voice and feedback.

Practice can be local or large scale and can include students-as-partners work on: exploring and scaffolding partnership work; effective responses to student voice; benefits and limitations of generative AI; academic support and development; employability; sustainability; assessment and feedback; widening participation, access and inclusion; engagement; wellbeing and belonging, and more.

All article types will be considered, including original research, case studies, commentary, opinions, and book reviews. There will be an active encouragement and prioritisation for articles co-written by students and staff, and all submissions are subject to a review process that involves both students and staff.

The journal will appeal to any member of staff or student in a higher education context, interested in learning about and making changes to the university experience, where the diverse backgrounds and expertise of students are valued equally with those of staff.

Readers of the journal will discover novel approaches to apply to their own contexts, whether new to, or experienced in student-staff partnership and voice work.

The journal is published once per year, with special editions as needed.
